Veteran Career Kit's public tools do not require a user account, verified enrollment, subscription, or payment.

Information entered into career tools

Resume Builder files, contact details, extracted achievements, job descriptions, and generated documents are processed only in the open browser tab. They are not sent to a Veteran Career Kit database, saved in browser storage, or made visible to another visitor. Reloading or closing the page clears the résumé session, so download documents before leaving. The site also removes résumé data saved by older versions of the builder when the updated builder opens.

Interview, offer-comparison, application-tracker, and 90-day planning entries are processed in the browser. The application tracker and completed 90-day plan tasks may remain in that browser's local storage on the same device; they are not published or added to an online account. Browser settings or each tool's clear-data control can remove them.

Transition planner information

Dates and checklist selections in the transition planner stay in the browser. They are not added to an online Veteran Career Kit account.

VA disability calculator information

Condition names, individual ratings, paired-extremity selections, and dependent details are calculated in the browser and are not submitted to Veteran Career Kit or saved in browser storage.

Employer and official-resource searches

Search terms and filters are used to display matching resources. The site may request current public employer data from its own directory service. Veteran Career Kit does not sell personal information.

External websites

Links to YouTube, VA, DoD, Department of Labor, military services, job-search sites, credential issuers, employers, and nonprofit organizations open services governed by their own privacy and accessibility practices.

Educational-use terms

Content is educational transition guidance, not legal, medical, financial, benefits, licensing, security-clearance, or hiring advice. Verify requirements with the responsible agency, employer, or credential issuer. No job, interview, salary, rating, benefit, or certification outcome is guaranteed.

Safe use

Do not enter classified information, passwords, Social Security numbers, protected third-party information, or other sensitive data that is not needed to use a tool. Use Clear my data before leaving a shared computer.
